Aqua Age

Aye, 'tis is truly an Aqua Age that we live in - and the oceans have never been in sorrier state than they are in at the present time either! Quite distressing, depressing and disheartening, is it not? This are the times that we wish we'd have ''The Aquaman'' swimming around to keep us in check - stop those trawlers from illegally plundering our oceans of all of its denizens - mere ''fishstock'' for us, surface-dwellers, but vital components of a complex ecosystem... down below! "The Aquaman" to put a damper in the joy of those polluters who dump tons of plastics in the oceans each and every day!  ''The Aquaman'' (as he is referred to by Ben Affleck - the Battafflack himself - in the landmark Justice League movie out right now in a theater near you! If Disney didn't buy out all the venues  around your block for their Coco and subsequent Star Wars rehash, that is!)  oh yes, how much is ''The Aquaman'' (and his voluptuous Mera) needed these days...?

For it's not just the illegal whale-hunters and fishermen who exaggerate that need being put back in their place the way ''The Aquaman'' does to one such of the former category, in a memorable scene of the aforementioned Justice League movie (scoop! No spoilers!) and various forms of pollutive ways that we, surface-dwellers, take to the seas without the slightest care whatsoever...

No, folks - there is MORE... And how many things will we have to repeat that, too - before it *sinks in* finally? There are those who treat the seas as both a dump *and* an endless source of nutrients - as contradictory as it is! Would you dump harmful chemicals into your food source? Does it make sense to do so? Well...  Take a long hard look in the mirror right now - and call yourselves obtuse fools already! And trust me now -it will be a no-brainer in a second too - it is better to have told to you by a blogger than to have it brought up *in your face* style by "The Aquaman" - if he existed!

Having said all that, and be it as it surely may...  

There are quite the lot of "aquamusement" to be had, still, out there 

with all the perky news bits that jump out at you  

from the murky depths of despair, 

though they are... 

T.O.  ... and Great Whites... right. 

... further evidence that we are living, 

against all aquatic odds verily 

and outside of rhyme, reason and the Rhine, 

still, somehow, in an Aqua Age - 

even local businesses north of T.O. 

adopt sea creatures as their emblem, 

totem or mere muse/mascot...

(well, they are French Frogs after all) 

HELL, EVEN THE EMPIRE 

LOVES FISH NUGGETS! 

They're part of the problem; 

they plunder the seas, too... 

... well. okay, not exclusively the seas; 

but who's to say these are not 

Chicken of the Sea nuggets - huh?

it went from ''oh, we're all gonna die'' 

to the truly regal speech 

''wanna know what I think?

I think we're all going to die! 

And that's fine with me!''

before he starts telling them 

about LIFE 

- the life that he wants to live!

Tell 'em, King... pardon... Emperor Aquaman!

Ahoy...  'Tis probably social media's way 

to announce and proclaim that 

the Age of the Aquaficionada 

has indeed arrived - aye! 

Aqua Anna will be delighted... 

Anyhow - she is banned from these waters now! 

Onwards to *other* Aquaficionadas! 

Aquaficionadas who read the Bible:

the Age of Aquarius and all, 

TIMES ARE DIRE FOR THE SEA 

and all things aquatic! 

HOWEVER, 

it is not time to sink into despair; 

follow the man's lead and say NO!
