Hear thee now, the most beautiful of all aqua musings ever composed (I may lose some followers over this - I care not! For this is the core of everything else; that which gives meaning to every other manifestation of beauty, hope and light, in all seven seas and in all manners aquatic imaginable...! Hence, it shall be written, here, and not just on this or that other blog part of our wondrous TLB Prime Network - blessed into existence, verily, by the Power of Creation Itself...!)
It is Easter - everywhere, from the Jordan River to the smallest brook nearby...
Ever heard this one, before...?
“Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
What of this, now:
Aye, it is Easter Time and here, on the shores of aqua musings, we shall not celebrate it with an umpteenth round-up of all Aquaficionadas there can be that doubled as Playboy Bunnies, at one time or another of their earthly existences... No, not this time!
Aqua Creatures need not swim by either - not this time (we'll save it for next time!)
And all manners of aquatic legends, mythological or make-believe of the most absurd kind, need not come forth today in order to exemplify what we should all aspire to be - but never had a snowball's chance in hell to accomplish - without Him, that is...
For it is True: even though it is but fairy tale material for the non-believers, invincible ignorants and other Dawg-kins of this world - Jesus The Christ is a historic figure. He Lived. And He Lives, as He Remains the only one to have Resurrected after physical death (those others who have done it lately - Superman, Aquaman, Hawkman, Spider-Man, even Deadman - they have all done it in the realm of fiction - duh.) and this is not a myth, it is not fiction - it is fact reported by twelve devoted apostles who gave their lives to make sure the world knew of The Truth.
The Christ is Prophecy Fulfilled. The Son of God. God among us! God made flesh!
And, throughout his short 33 years among us, He Was constantly linked to... water. Didn't that ever strike you? Didn't the fact that ''Water Is Life'' as it is customary to say, that science always professed that all life began in the Big Drink and that He, Jesus, Said it so clearly, in our top quote here: ''you cannot access the Kingdom of God unless you are born of water and of the Spirit.''
He Was Baptized in the water - which is how we can be born of the spirit, by being reborn in the water first, through our own baptism, affirming we enter into a covenant with God.
He Walked on water - no one has ever done that (except for the basilisk - an exception nature, God's Creation, brought into existence, too) and He famously turned water into wine.
On that, a parenthesis must be made, due to my own personal interests (again: my blog, my prerogative!) - for the land of my ancestors is one of great Faith, Faith in Christ, yet its greatest poet linked it greatly to the mythological divinity Bacchus and a supposed son he would have had, Lusus, who have been the founder of Lusitania very nearly like Romulus did to Rome itself! And, just as Romulus had a sibling in Remus, Lusus might have had a sister named Lyssa - that is, if one believes several poetic sources, from Pliny The Elder to Luís de Camões himself... (So sorry for the long sidetracking here: the historian in me will never die, so, blame it on him!)
All this to say that Bacchus is known for being the ''god'' of wine - Lusitania, land of my ancestors, faithful of Christ forevermore, being linked to such a character when Christ Himself turned water into the precious wine that modern Portugal is well-known for, definitely is... well, aquamusing, shall we say? (And we'd rather think of it that way than think of it as blasphemous...!)
On that note, it is interesting to remark that ancient mapping of the Roman Empire would color Lusitania... orange. One of our favorite colors; and Aquaman's too! Further evidence that, all those years of liking that color, for some reason, over others, was not tied into Halloween at all - it was my eye for the chromatic tendencies of my forebearers' home and native land all along! Plus that Orange Girl in the classiest Cyrano of all was justification for that aplenty, too... Just a funny multi-sided coincidence, once more... But that is another story...
Jesus, The Christ's followers, those famous devoted apostles, were comprised of quite a few fishermen, too, have you ever noticed that...? Another famous miracle was the Miraculous Catch - it recruited Saint Peter on the spot. And yet another great and famous miracle, one that even the most blasé ''pretend-catholic'' will recall instantly, is that of the multiplication of the five breads and three fishes which became enough to feed an entire mob, verily...!
Jesus, simply put, Is just all right with me - and if you want to follow this blog, its aquamusings, or any other incarnation of the TLB Prime Network and its author - Luminous Luciano - you have got to dig that, too!
The favored hero of this particular blog (since Ulysses/Odysseus, Vasco de Gama, Admiral Nelson, Sinbad, Popeye and others like that have just become too,,, passé) may be the corporately-professed ''king of the seven seas'' - Aquaman - and the fact that said character had an ''healing water hand'' for a while, one he obtained through the Lady of the Lake associated to Christian folk tales of Arthurian legend, was another one of those, ah... ''aquamusing'' coincidences. However, it always bothered, deep down (no pun intended) this author's blog that the only way they found to empower a modern-day heroic sea-faring type was through copying... Christ!
The only one who can heal anybody with a bare touch remains... Christ. You better believe that!
And if you believe - well, you may actually re-enact some of those miracles, even. Not in mere made-up stories, fan-fic or not, but in real life, yes! (Hey; Heaven Is For Real - haven't you heard?) You may even walk on water, too... All you have to do in order to reach that level is simple: be reborn, of water and of the Spirit.
Let not thoughts of water being death, too, deter you now: God Promised He Would never again bring about such devastation upon us (even though we have it coming) as it was done in the days of Utnapishtim - more commonly known as Noah, indeed... Think more along the lines of God parting the seas for you to pass instead - for He Will do that for you - and more, much more. Fear not, either, that in the Book of Revelations there is something about ''the seas being no more'' - for God and with Him, all things are possible, therefore if you have never swum with the dolphins like certain Putins have, and you dream of doing that in the New World - be sure that you will. Dolphins will be swimming along in thin air. For no Paradise could be complete without those gentle creatures (now unicorns... I don't think so!) And if you fear being Left Behind - don't. Being stranded like this, as all hell breaks loose all around you, only truly means that you will be given another chance - and you will be in good hands then. This even if you swim through the deep trenches of death - or something close to that feeling, even if in shallow waters...
In closing, if some of you may be wondering if this entire ''aquamusings'' blog was some sort of ''entrapment'' all along, meant to lure you into this... Think again. And be Born Again, too! We never hid our Beliefs from the hordes of aqua aficionados out there: a simple click on the Blogger profile of one ''Luminous Luciano'' and you would have seen that there are three Faith-related blogs in this TLB Prime Network to our own lone (oh-so lonely, lost at sea here...) ''aquamusings'' blog! And besides, as so many celebrities are doing now (more than ever, it would appear) be it Roma Downey, Nicholas Cage, Dean Cain, Kevin Sorbo or those Duck Dynasty hirsute dudes that make ZZ Top envious, we were never hiding or being ashamed of our FAITH. Some might have had momentary lapses of judgment, times of weakness, like the original twelve disciples did before they got busy spreading the Good News so actively, leading to all twelve martyrdoms... But we Believe just as much as they Believe! For once, be a betting man (or gal) and gamble (if that's the way you want to see it...!) - wager like Modesty Blaise Pascal himself...! Believe as he does, too...!
Note the present tone; the past tense is avoided because there is something else that comes with Believing - it is Eternal Life. Eternal, as the seas appear to be. Eternal... like water.
